Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question for Dr. Antoon? Want to know how we can replace your missing teeth or if we can help your children? Below, you’ll find answers to these questions and many more of the most common ones our patients ask us every day. If you have a question that we haven’t answered here, don’t hesitate to give us a call! We’re always happy to take extra time to make sure you completely understand your dental care.

If I brush and floss regularly, why should I still see a dentist?

It’s good that you brush and floss every day, but unfortunately, problems can still develop. Despite persistent oral hygiene care, cavities and other complications can arise which often go unnoticed by untrained eyes. Deep cleanings from a dental hygienist can remove the natural buildup of plaque and tartar which can’t be eliminated by simple brushing. Attending regular family dentistry checkups and cleanings with Dr. Antoon will help protect your teeth and keep you smiling brightly!

Do you see children?

Yes! Dr. Antoon provides dental care for each member of your family. We offer children’s dentistry to keep growing smiles healthy and to teach kids the importance of proper dental hygiene, including brushing and flossing. Dr. Antoon will also be able to check for any problems with the way their teeth are growing and respond as necessary. We like to see children patients at least every six months for regular appointments to keep their smile stay in top condition.

Should I replace a missing tooth?

Generally speaking, yes. A missing tooth, or missing teeth, are not only cosmetically unappealing but can create many dental problems over time. Existing teeth in the smile will usually shift inward to close any gaps, which changes dental occlusion (the way the top and bottom teeth fit together). This can lead to teeth grinding, crookedness, and other gaps. Replacing a tooth can help you avoid all of these issues and much more.

How can I replace a missing tooth?

You’ll have to come in for an appointment so that we can recommend what’s best for your unique smile, but Antoon Family Dental offers a variety of restorative dentistry techniques to replace a missing tooth or for missing teeth. Dental implants are a permanent way to fill in your smile and work by imitating a natural tooth root to anchor a realistic-looking crown. Dental crowns can also hold a custom-made fixed bridge in place, and this procedure can replace one to three missing teeth in a row. Dr. Antoon can also provide dentures or partial dentures to patients who prefer a removable solution for their teeth replacement.

I don’t have dental insurance. Can I still go to Antoon Family Dental?

Yes! In fact, we have in-house financing to assist uninsured patients and their families. For a low enrollment fee, Plano families or individuals will receive drastically discounted care from Antoon Family Dental. Visit our in-office financing page to learn more.

Do you offer cosmetic dentistry?

Yes! Antoon Family Dental offers a variety of cosmetic dentistry treatments to help patients enhance their healthy smiles. For minor chips or cracks, our Plano team can use direct bonding and shaping with a dental resin that matches the shade of your existing teeth. If you would like to shield a lackluster tooth (or teeth) from view, porcelain veneers can help by creating the appearance of a naturally beautiful smile. To simply upgrade your smile, ask us about in-office or take-home teeth whitening. Dr. Antoon is ready to help you create the smile of your dreams.
